MLM Introducing: Gee Beat - Bubble Gum [MLM006]

Gee Beat is a music producer from Barcelona, Spain. He began making music 12 years ago, but in the last three years made the decision to fully commit. Leaving everything else behind, fully locked in to his music career.

Story behind the release: I created ‘Bubble Gum’ and ‘Loco’ during a phase where I felt the need to experiment more freely. I focused on using very unique samples and deliberately limited the number of stems in each track, keeping everything as minimal and intentional as possible. Even though I thought the tracks were quite unconventional, I decided to send them to a few iconic DJs I deeply respect. Luciano reached out to me directly and suggested releasing both tracks together as an EP. That moment was surreal and definitely one I’ll always remember.

First place you heard your release live: The first time I played both tracks was at one of my favourite clubs in Barcelona - GSpot. The crowd’s reaction was much stronger than I expected, which gave me a lot of confidence in the music. Later on, I heard Tony Guerra playing ‘Bubble Gum’ in Chile and Daniel Orpi playing ‘Loco’ in Miami. Hearing my music travel and connect with people in different parts of the world is something I feel truly blessed for.

Most memorable Luciano moment: My most memorable moment of Luciano was seeing him after I finished school, when I was 18 years old. We went all together to Ibiza, our first time in big clubs with electronic music. He played Reboot - ‘Caminando’ which became one of my favourite songs of all time. Another memorable moment was when he texted me saying he wanted to sign the EP on Machaca!

What’s next: I have a couple of EPs already signed and coming out in the next weeks’ on smaller labels, along with a few singles and some fun edits. On the touring side, there are several international gigs confirmed, and I’m really looking forward to a festival season that I hope will be full of surprises!
