MLM Introducing: Francis De Simone - Wanna Bass [MLM024]

Francis De Simone is a DJ and producer with a deep musical background. First as a drummer, before graduated from the conservatory with a specialisation in Latin funk. That foundation continues to shape his approach to music today, bringing together influences from Latin, funk, soul and hip-hop within a modern electronic sound. Energetic and groove-driven, rhythm and acoustic detail sit firmly at the heart of his productions.

The Inspiration

The tracks on this release are a blend of classic house music and modern minimal tech, merging different styles together. One of the tracks, in particular, was strongly influenced by 80s funk sounds. Technically, I didn't use anything overly complex; instead, my focus was entirely on flow and momentum. I aimed to give the release continuous energy without making it monotonous, I envisioned it like a runaway train that just keeps moving and never stops.

The Family

Releasing on Machaca La Membrana is a deeply special emotion for me. Luciano has always been a true legend in my eyes, so seeing my music appreciated, supported and selected by an artist of his stature is something that genuinely fills me with joy. It’s not just a release, it’s an incredible validation of my work to be welcomed into his universe.

The Future

I have a lot of new music in the works and a couple of tracks are lined up for release over the coming months. That said, I'm a pretty superstitious person haha, so I won't give away too much just yet! I’d just recommend staying tuned to my social channels to find out what’s coming next...
